Jane, Judy Kustes, Janice Shogry, and Leslie McKee, have been friends since grade 6. We celebrated being 70 at Judy’s summer home a couple years ago. So many years of sleepovers, church choir and retreats, driving in Jane‘s convertible when we were seniors at Mount Lebanon the memories and the laughs! After college, Jane marrying and moving to the south, and acquiring a southern accent! We kept in touch by letters and visits. We always fell right into pace when we were together. As we all had babies, Jane continued having her lean body, the same as when we were younger! As we grew in years her passion for caring for people both in her community and politically grew strong. Her beautiful smile continually radiated with a great laugh attached to it. A quick funny story, she was knitting pussy hats. Her young granddaughter loved the color and wanted one. Jane explained to her granddaughter they were kitty cat hats! What a wonderful life we four have enjoyed being such cherished friends. |

I don't know how I missed seeing this earlier, but I was so sorry to learn that Jane has passed. She was one of my best grade school friends, and I loved being invited to her beautiful house in Mission Hills--so much nicer than mine at the time! She was always, classy, funny and fun. A person with good values and a good heart. I was very fond of Jane's mother, Peg, who was our Girl Scout leader and a very kind person. It is nice to know that Janice, Judy, Leslie and Jane continued their lifelong friendship. I have fond memories of all of you.
