On April 22, 2020, Douglas Stewart Gregg passed away at the age of 72. He died peacefully at home with his two children by his side. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Mary Stewart and William Gregg in 1947. He lived in the Pittsburgh area for his childhood and early adulthood with his brother, Scott. He grew up spending summers at his family farm in Tipton, PA, which was originally built in 1828 and is still in the family. After graduating from Juniata College with a psychology degree, he lived for a short time in Virginia before taking on a great adventure and moving to Alaska in 1974. In 1979, the family left Alaska and drove down the Alcan Highway from Fairbanks through British Columbia and relocated to Jupiter/Tequesta, FL to be closer to family. Doug was a property manager and later became a licensed building contractor and established D. Gregg Construction, Inc. He was passionate about the boating life in the Jupiter area and had a very special fondness for cars of all kinds. He also showed a special talent for art, especially sketching. He is preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Mary. He is survived by his brother, Scott Hunter Gregg (Audrey) of Tipton, PA; daughter, Sara Gregg Riedel (Dustin) and his two grandsons: William and Cameron Riedel of Milford, CT; son, Christopher William Gregg (Jessica) of Jupiter, FL; his former wife, Susan Stilli Gregg of North Palm Beach, FL; and his girlfriend, Judi Venet of Jupiter, FL. A Visitation and Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 18th, 2020, starting at 11 am at All County Funeral Home at the Treasure Coast Chapel, 1010 N.W. Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34994. In lieu of traditional expressions of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to either cholangiocarcinoma.org or oceanconservancy.org in the memory of Douglas S. Gregg.
