awesome guy, Lumpy and i double dated with girls i met in prep school. we drove out to a secluded spot and had a six pack (bud i think) we were all conversing until things heated up, as i dropped my beer out of the window it rolled acrross the street leaving a trail of beer from the car to the side of the road. sure enough as a car approached and slowed down we got abit worried, as the cop got of his car i hid the remaining 2 cans of beer. Lumpy was driving so he was in the driver's seat he rolled down the window as the cop approached he asked what we were doing and if we had any beer. Lumpy said "I'm not going to lie to you sir we have a couple of cans" with that the cop said since you didn't lie to me you may go i remember that like it was yesterday. Lumpy was an awesome friend a good man    brooks

This one weighs heavy on my heart....a very special person to our family has left us....Robert (Lumpy to those who loved him) Hippert passed peacefuly on May 2, 2013.    Lumpy picked Dennis and I up almost every day of our High School years with a smile on his face and a funny story to start the day....or a crazy prank like showing up with the top down on his car on a winter day when it was snowing.  Always laughing, smiling and just a happy person....that is how he corageously battled this disease and this is how he left life.
