In Memory
Beth Ann (Banks) Watson, 74, of Bloomington passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on July 15, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Jacob William and Jean Elizabeth (Murphy) Banks. Beth was a 1965 graduate of Mount Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Franklin H. Watson in 1968.
She was a member of Christ Community Church (formerly ECC) in Bloomington where she volunteered for many years with WINGS, Camp Olivet, and teaching Sunday school. She was a long-time member of the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary and volunteered at the Salvation Army. She worked as a preschool teacher for Parents' Day Out and also volunteered at all of her children’s elementary schools. She loved the Lord, her church family, working with children, crafting, and gardening. She used her talent for crafting in her work and to express her love to others. She was endlessly creative and at times kept booths at the local antique mall where she displayed furniture she'd salvaged and refurbished. Beth adored her children and her grandchildren and will be deeply missed.
Beth is survived by her children, William Watson of Bloomington; Ann Watson of San Jose, CA; Michael Watson of Bloomington; Christopher (Jamie) Watson of Fort Wayne IN; and Matthew Watson of Bloomington; grandchildren Axle and Acey Watson; brothers William Banks of Pittsburgh PA; Mark Banks of St. Petersburg FL; Shawn Banks of Fort Myers FL; and Robert Banks of Pittsburgh PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Jean Banks, and her husband, Franklin Watson.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Christ Community Church (503 S. High St., Bloomington) with Rev. Bob Whitaker and Rev. John Mangrum officiating.
