Ann and I were not close friends in high school, but we ended up in graduate school and team taught in the same classroom and became best friends and were in each others' weddings. She was a wonderful German teacher at Baldwin High School and the devoted mother of two daughters, Crosby, and Erinann, who I continue to see regularly. Ann was someone who always put others first, a truly selfless person

I was proud to be Ann's friend in high school and we had many good times together. I'm sorry I didn't live closer to be able to stay in touch - just couldn't twitter then. I heard she was a great wife and mother and popular teacher. What a wonderful legacy. I worked in special education and know how difficult it is to continually inspire and stimulate your students especially while maintaining a home and family. When I look back on who shaped my life, teachers were in the forefront - like Mr. Formento whose class was a joy. I think of Ann often and her early death brings to mind Erma Bombeck's quote: "Stop sweating the small stuff. Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who DO love us and think about what God has blessed us with."Cathy Creed Hill 2/11/10
