Hampton man's brother dies in wreck
     The brother of a Hampton man was killed instantly in an auto smashup Oct. 4 near Grantville, Md. Robert F. Metting, 22, of Mount Lebanon, brother of Edward C. Metting Jr., 4313 Orchardview Drive, was riding in a car driven by a former Mount Lebanon classmate. The driver is in critical condition in a Maryland hospital. Metting, a graduate of Allegheny College, was enrolled in graduate school at Duquesne University where he was majoring in English. He was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church and Delta Tau Delta fraternity. In addition to his brother, he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Metting Sr. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Oct. 9, by the Rev. James Donald of Overbrook Presbyterian Church.  Burial was in Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery, Pleasant Hills. Bob died within several years of graduating from high school.  We were good friends and I've often wondered what his adulthood would have been like.  He had the best laugh.  I still smile thinking of it.
