After earning BA & MA degrees from the Univ. of Notre Dame, I moved to NJ and started my career at Bell Labs in 1972. Married Mary Ann Scherer, Indiana Univ grad from Indianapolis, in November 1972. Moved to AT&T in 1978. Earned MA in Advanced Mgmt. from Pace Univ. in 1984. Retired from AT&T as District Manager in 1998. Earned and maintained Project Mgmt Professional (PMP) and Computer Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certifications. Joined Johnson & Johnson in 1998, learned about cyber security after 9/11 and became the first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Ortho Biotech, a J&J subsidiary. My responsibilities grew and over time and I was CISO for Ortho Tibotec, Centocor, and finally Janssen Pharmaceuticals NA, all J&J pharmaceutical companies. Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 999 of Bridgewater NJ for 8 years. Member of the Hillsborough Township Board of Education for 10 years. I retired in April 2013 and enjoy spending time with Mary Ann, our children and grandchildren.
I've continued my interest in motorcycle touring and motor sports, and still ride my motorcycles about 6000 miles per year.
